The Philadelphia Phillies beat the Tampa Bay Rays 4 games to 1 to win the World Series on Wednesday night. Game five was originally scheduled to be played on Tuesday but was suspended in the bottom of the 6th inning due to rain. Phillies pitcher Brad Lidge closed the game in the 9th retaining his perfect record. Fellow pitcher Cole Hamels was MVP of the series.
After the game, thousands of fans filled the streets and partied into the late hours of the night. Overall the crowd behaved however some destruction was caused in the later hours of the night. Here is a video of some of the action… I kept waiting for the Cloverfield monster to appear.
Congrats to the Phillies! We’ve waited a long time for this and hopefully the Eagles will be next to go all the way.
